Revista Trabalhista Direito e Processo N. 67

Issue description

In this edition, still influenced by the previous edition ("Judgment with a Gender Perspective"), we dedicate space to broader and deeper reflections on equality and the fight against discrimination. The reason for this choice is simple yet profound: in an increasingly diverse and human rights-conscious world, it is essential to reaffirm our commitment to equality and inclusion.

Therefore, the approach is based on an "anti-discrimination" premise, meaning that, more than promoting equality, we must combat all forms of discriminatory behavior.

There is a vast legal framework on the topic, both in international standards and in the 1988 Federal Constitution and infra-constitutional legislation dedicated to promoting dignified, fair, and equitable working conditions. However, it is known that the "is" is very different from the "ought" conceived in legal norms. Discrimination persists in various forms, whether based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or any other characteristic that implies unfounded distinction.

There is much to be done. The fight against discrimination in the workplace is an ongoing journey that requires everyone's commitment. The theme of this issue aims to serve as a contribution, supported by ANAMATRA's commitment to promoting the defense of the Democratic Rule of Law and Social Rights, in support of this arduous battle.

The work reaffirms the role of associations in building a better world, where everyone has equal opportunities.

In this issue, we invite you to delve deeper into this important topic, exploring different perspectives and sharing experiences and best practices. Together, we can create a more just and inclusive future for all. Enjoy your reading!
